    Looking forward to the pickles!

This sounds like quite a party. Sorry to have missed it.

Sure was Kenny. More people on pie action than American Pie 2.

The appropriate sequel to Pi Day would logically be 6/28 (happens to be a Monday).

And the recipe I used for the chocolate cream pie can be found here:

Well, I knew that wasn't going to be good for me. 9 egg yolks - it's like a fluffy flourless chocolate cake (and tasted just as good...sigh.)

That was the best chocolate cream pie I have ever tasted. I loved the ultra-smooth filling and the deep, dark chocolate flavor which is all too often missing in chocolate cream pie.

    Hi,

Thanks figmolly, figjustin and everyone who gathered to share pie, soup and science projects.

While BR didn't take my suggestion to bring some pie home. I did take some of his passion fruit pie home to share with my family. It will be something I'll make sometime soon, though I fear it may not be as pretty as his.

I also took home some of the savory pastries for the home team's dinner. I hadn't precisely explained my adventure for the day, so pretty much everything was a very, very pleasant surprise.

I hope Sparky doesn't mind: his edible "paper" project made a great cracker to eat with Steve Z's soup.

These homemade LTH events, as well as the dessert and dinner exchanges, I really value very much. There are so many things to learn from each other and inspire to make better food.

This week in March is really pretty special: 3.14: pi day, 3.15 Ides of March (Et tu Brute Day), 3.17 St. Patrick's Day and 3.19 St. Joseph's Day. It rivals the holidays for a compact series of food events (granted Ides of March isn't food oriented, unless you insist on a Roman feast).

    Regards,
    Cathy2

By the way, the photo tagged Coffee Cream is actually Hawaiian Chocolate.

Sorry about that. It's now been renamed correctly.

Since you're correcting labels, maybe you could correct the aspersions cast on my cheese PIES (actually butternut squash and goat cheese). My other pie was eggplant feta (labeled as cheese quiche). I mean, I didn't think they were THAT bad. Thanks

I'd say quite good actually . . . especially the squash ones. By the way, what kind of goat cheese did you use?

The pi(e)s were great. My memory and spelling are not. Labels have been corrected.

    Hi,

There was a difference between the two Concord grape pies: mine was thickened with cornstarch and gastro gnome used tapioca. I think I also didn't use the last two tablespoons of sugar, too.

It was interesting to try this pie made by two different hands.

    That. was. awesome.

For all those who do not believe there is a cake vs. pie debate, you were just got (scientifically) told.
