Hi!
While the search function didn't turn up much recent information, I'm guessing I'm not the only LTH reader who often fails to post on foreign travel - - and so hopefully, this post will invite a few responses.
Rich and I are traveling to Indonesia for 11 days, with stopovers in Tokyo. Tokyo is new to us. We've been to Indonesia, but not to the areas we're visiting on this trip.
Based on advice from other boards (which haven't always steered me toward good eats), here's the whirlwind Tokyo plan:
> Take Narita Express to Tokyo Station and check into Ginza hotel (flight arrives Tokyo at 330pm)
> Eat dinner at Sasahana, Ginza.
> Try to find an izakaya or two for post dinner drinks and snacks.
> Sleep for a few hours.
> Get up ridiculously early and take a taxi to the Tsujiki Fish Market to walk around the Market and eat sushi for breakfast. (Daiwa and Dai seem to be the places to eat, but as we're pressed for time, we may not have the luxury of waiting in line.)
> Take a taxi to Tokyo Station (around 730am) to head back to Narita for 11am flight.
On the return trip, we have part of a day in Tokyo and don't have anything planned yet. Flight arrives Narita at 8am and leaves at 530pm. In both directions, we'll leave our luggage at Narita and travel lightly.
In Indonesia, we will be in Yogyakarta (Central Java), Tana Toraja and Makassar (both Sulawesi), and perhaps Candidasa (Eastern Bali).
If anyone has any food-related advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any advice that isn't food-related, I'd really appreciate a PM. I'm only just starting to make trip arrangements, so advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Ronna
