I could not find any previous posts on this deli so I decided to start this thread. After visiting Delighful Pastries (oh my, how wonderful, sensory overload) I shopped at Elliot's, where you can obtain fresh hot corned beef that they make in house. I order the regular for $4.99/half pound, extra lean is also availabe but the regular has very little fat. They have a homemade turkey breast that is EXACTLY like slicing a the breast off your Thanksgiving turkey. Prices are reasonable and service is cheerul and fast. This is an independent local store and
have been in the area a long time, all the more reason to support them.

A friend in my office swears by the corned beef sandwiches at Elliot's for lunch.

I asked the counter person at Elliott's many years ago if they made their own corned beef. He uttered an emphatic, "no." He would not reveal their sourcing, but I would be surprised if it was not Vienna.

This is not a knock against Elliott's, after all Manny's doesn't make their own corned beef either.

Though I live quite close to Elliott's, I no longer find their corned beef satisfactory. I can't determine if I have changed or they. Still, I can't think of a better corned beef within reasonable distance. Someday, I'll have my helicopter!

    Elliott's Dairy, RIP.

I'll miss the cabbage rolls with the too sweet tomato sauce warm in the deli. I mourn another Mom & Pop store gone.
