Hi, apologies if there is an existing thread on this, but my search didn't locate one.

I need to have several kilos of sweets (baklava, mamoul etc) shipped for a wedding event being held in the middle of nowhere. I'm familiar with the products from number of the local bakeries such as Nazareth & Jaafar, but am looking for specific recommendations if anyone any experience they can share for which bakery would be best to provide reliable, not too pricey service to have sweets shipped & which sweets hold up best in shipping.

    Many thanks.

While I am a huge fan of Nazareth, I've never had their sweets shipped anywhere. I have, however, mail ordered from Shatila in Dearborn MI. Indeed, they were for my own wedding and partly because of family connections to Dearborn.

Anyway I can attest that Shatila's products ship very well although I imagine if packed well, most of Nazareth's products will ship just fine.

We shipped baklawa, bird's nests, and different kinds of mamoul, and they all arrived just fine.

    Good luck

I have a standing order for treats from Shatila whenever a friend of mine heads home. I really enjoy their products and they always taste fresh to me.

As far as shipping goes, my husband and I take our kids to Disneyworld somewhat regularly. When there, I always enjoy getting baklava in Epcot Center. To me, it seems to be one of the decent quick treats left at Disney...so much of their quick-bite stuff is just terrible nowadays. Anyway, the last time I was there, I noticed Shatila boxes in the trash! All their baklava are shipped in from MI. I was told they had been doing that for a while...so I guess that's one more bit of confirmation that they ship well.

Thanks to all for the feedback - it looks like I'm going to have to check out Shatila!
