Can't find much on the internets.

I thought I read somewhere that just the restaurant was closing....

Green Dolphin Street just went through some changes, cutting out its jazz programming and its dinner offerings to focus on the club-centric events that have become its ultimate cash cow. While the number of DJ events has increased significantly the past few weeks, it’s still the long running Boom Boom Room night that draws us in most often. The diversity of the bookings is tough to beat and tonight’s performance from King Britt is a case in point. The Philly DJ, producer and marketing guru may have his fingers in a lot of pies, but he doesn’t let that sully anyone of them. He’s an expert in the studio, churning out everything from twisted broken beats to soulful deep house gold and his keen ear has made him a go to man for hotel soundtracks and cell phone commercials. Tonight though, he keeps it simple: ample house music and a packed dance floor. Pottymouth Records owner James Amato and local fidget house man Santiago open. Green Dolphin Street. 10pm; $10, R.S.V.P. to rsvp@boomboomroomchicago.com

South East corner? The in the old space that sold panini and gelato a while back?

Not sure what it used to be, have only lived close by for a month. There is still Barista Coffee House that may sell panini and gelato across the street from the coming Black Dog space.

phone is disconnected, but sign on the door says Chiyo is simply closed for vacation from April 1 to April 30. Do you have info that it is actually a permanent vacation?

Unless there is a translation problem, Iʻve got information from a very reliable source that it is closed permanently.

Why donʻt you go to Chicago Kalbi and ask Chiyo yourself?

I guess that's what happens when you substitute the real roast beef they used in the 70s with some kind of pressed-meat-like substitute.

It was always a pressed beef "loaf", even in the 70's.

SIL took it over, ran it into the ground, handed the keys back to our homeschooler friend about a month ago, and took off. Homeschooler jumped back in with both feet: closed the place down to redecorate and rework menu, reopened recently. I drove by to check it out the other day.
Very kid-friendly, artsy, laid-back but clean and colorful. Food and service were both good enough that I'm planning a return trip. Wish it was closer!

Actually, I think it is 5. Drove by the Arby's in Wheeling on Elmhurst Road, just north of Dundee and it, too, is recently closed.

Menu is a bit all over the place. Pastas and risottos, but also tuna with sesame seeds and soy sauce, and for dessert, key lime pie. And I'm praying that the "scallop" in "mozzarella scallop" refers to the shape of the cheese.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll give it a try at some point.
I wonder if it's the same owner as the former La Cucina di Donatella. Sounds like a decent possibility.
