Update: An we have a winner :P Prairie Fire it is!

    215 North Clinton Street
    Chicago, IL 60661-1227
    (312) 382-8300

Looking forward to seeing everyone! Let's cap this one at 14 to make sure we don't overwhelm them. I'll call tomorrow and find out if they'd recommend pre-ordering to ensure that we can get in and out within a reasonable amount of time for those who need to get back to the office.

    Count me in!

Ok people...i have visions of 20 people signing up for a lunch, all realizing at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning that we never picked a place to meet

so I'll throw out a few suggestions...I don't mind making the res (and keeping track of the participants) if no one wants to do it but I'd rather not pick the spot (oh the pressure  )

so, here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling. Please chime in!

    Prairie Fire
    The Gage
Cafecito (not sure if they could accomodate seating for a group)
Oasis or another middle eastern option if someone knows of a good one since we haven't done that yet (or at least not since I've been attending)
A couple of wild card suggestions: French Market or 7 on State--each participant could pick a place and bring a sample back to the table. Not sure if this is really practical for sharing but sounded fun...
The gyro place we talked about a couple of months ago (can't remember the name)
Greek town (I'm partial to Santorini but anywhere that the group likes)

    And...discuss :P

Some other suggestions to throw out there for consideration:

I am always up for Greek town restaurants to share plates.
Blackbird have a heck of a $22 lunch deal.
Park Grill in the Millenium Park.

 Or a picnic in Millenium Park - bring your own brown bag (radical, I know) from any of the following:
    - CND Gyros (as mentioned by B above and suggested for April loop lunch before I inadvertently pre-empted it)
    - Pastoral (call in your order for pick up or we can place a group order) or;
    - Farmstand
    - Oasis (as suggested above)
    - Others?

Another , I wonder if any of the restaurants on the Riverwalk will be opened by 5/27:

•Chicago River Dog between Clark and LaSalle.
•Cyrano's Cafe and Wine Bar on the Riverwalk at Columbus
•Friendship on the River between State and Dearborn
•Lagniappe Cajun Creole Joynt between Dearborn and Clark
    •O'Briens Riverwalk Cafe at Wabash
•Riverwalk Grill between LaSalle and Wells

If the Riverwalk is open, everyone has a choice of the above vendors, and I have been wanting to try Lagniappe for a while now. However, weather is always a factor with outdoor dining, unless folks are flexible enough for a plan B.

Too crazy? Stop smoking my recyclables?

I'd love to be included and will do my best to attend; the only reason I have to hedge is that my time is fairly tightly constrained. To the extent the location is close by (I am, for all intents and purposes, at the French Market), it will be much easier and therefore much likelier that I can make it. So, with that caveat, I'm in. :D

From PM and post response, looks like Prairie Fire is a good option. I'll post the address & change the heading later today when I'm back in the office. Gypsy Boy--this should be a
good location for you since it's close to the market.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!

Absolutely terrific suggestion. I have been impressed on my couple of visits and any excuse for another visit is welcome! Count me most definitely in. (It also gives me an excuse--as if I need one--to stop by the French Market on the way back to the dungeon...I mean, the office.)

All: I'm working with the kind folks at PF to put a family style menu together. If anyone has any "must-haves" or "please-nots", let me know ASAP. We're shooting to keep the cost under $25 (similar to the Purple Pig lunch).

    See you all soon!!

Is the warm sticky toffee date cake available for a dessert? If it doesn't fit for the price point, any chance we could order it individually? If it's too much of a hassle, never mind. But thanks for asking.
