McCann's Irish Oatbran

I used to buy McCann's Irish Oatbran cereal at Sunset Foods (north shore, 4 locations) but the last time I went in, there was no product on the shelf.

I checked the McCann's site in Ireland, and they appear to mention that they make the product still, although I cannot link to it from their homepage.

I love this stuff, especially for managing Cholesterol.

Does anyone know if anyone else in Chicagoland has this product in stock, or if (horrors!) it is no longer imported into the USA???


P.S. I still find all the Oatmeal products, it is the Oatbran I'm interested in.

Hi- I have seen McCain's at the Whole Foods store in downtown Evanston, but I am not sure if they carry the oat bran. I am pretty sure that they carry oat bran in bulk, although I am not sure what brand they carry. Does this really help you with your cholesterol? I am on cholesterol medication, because I have a family history of cholesterol problems, and I used to be able to lower it by diet alone. I eat a lot of oatmeal and beans. The last few years it has been high no matter what I eat, so I have been forced to go on meds. Hope this helps, Nancy
