The ice cream is great--I'm a fan of the whiskey flavor when they have it--but the real treat there for my money is the halo halo shaved ice. A bowl of shaved ice, mixed with coconut milk, piled high with fresh coconut, sweetened red and white beans, various tropical fruits, tapioca bubbles, a light purple mini-scoop of ube ice cream and a dark purple scoop of ube paste.

Tried a little taster spoon of the Village Creamery whiskey flavor, harsh and not to my taste, taster spoon of pandan surprisingly bland. Also had a taster of queso, which I've had before and like, but settled on a scoop of maize and halo halo which I took home and added sprinkle of fleur de sel and mixed toasted/ground Mexican pepper powder. Sounded cacophony, tasted calypso.

Mr. Pie and I stopped in yesterday as a fluke. We were headed to Culver's but they weren't open, and we figured this place would be. It was: I ordered the Chocolate Berry Merlot, and now I am going to save my pennies and go back for a quart. It was chocolate ice cream flavored with raspberry and merlot, studded with cranberries. I figured they were dried, but nope, big fat fresh berries. Supoib.

    that does sound good !

I recently stopped by twice in the past few weeks as I'm really digging their buko pandum (sp?) ice cream, basically an aromatic (slight mint taste) with lots of thick shreds of young coconut.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.
