Anyone had Sunday brunch at Mill Race Inn, Nosh or The Atwater in Geneva?

I haven't had brunch at any of them but I have eaten at all of them. Your choice would depend on what atmosphere you are going for because each is very different with Atwater's being at the top of the line, Mill Race a slight bit more moderate and Nosh at the bottom. Nosh is in what used to be a garage, has concrete floors and high ceilings, it has a quirky menu but I have not ever warmed up to it. I have had very poor. rude service there, it's too noisy and too crowded in and not at all relaxing. Both Mill Race and Atwaters have nice River views and a place to walk along the River and are directly across from one another. Nosh is in the back of a parking lot. Do I sound as if I don't like Nosh? I don't!

Yeah I can tell! Thanks for the reply. Its a graduation/18th birthday thing, so Nosh might be too casual. I've been to Mill Race several times for lunch and it is nice. Can't tell from their menu if they really do an actual brunch or it's just a breakfast on Sunday. Might go Atwater.

It wasn't on your list, but have you considered Niche? They do an excellent brunch -- a little more limited in terms of number of items on the menu, but quite nice.

I was also going to suggest Hotel Baker if St Charles was a consideration.

I didnt realize Niche did brunch, and hadnt heard of Hotel Baker---do either of these places do a traditional 'buffet' brunch or have modified menus? Ive perused a little, and not sure they do the buffet thing...the graduate is hoping for this kind of brunch, while I wouldnt mind ordering off a menu...

I don't think Niche does a buffet, but you could call and ask. All I know is that my husband ordered a waffle there with some sort of homemade berry butter that was far and away the best waffle I've ever eaten.

I checked out Hotel Baker and they do not have a Sunday brunch and in fact do not open their restaurant on Sunday. My local newspaper's weekend edition today had a ad for Niche's Sunday brunch served from 10:30 until 2. It says "Constantly evolving menu with optional a la carte selections" Their phone is 630-262-1000 for reservations and information.

Just another thought, I noticed Pheasant Run resort in St Charles does a Jazz brunch which looks like a buffet type.

thanks likestoeatout...If it was me going with just my family members I would do Niche or Nosh. Because its grandparents and etc maybe Pheasant Run is the way to go- traditional brunch and nothing too unusual for staid palattes. I was also thinking Villa Olivia as well.
