    Cathy,

I'm wondering what kind of recipes are in these cook books? Are they recipes by the chefs from the local restaurants, or are they home cooks' recipes, similar to a Junior League cookbook?

    Hi,

Many of the recipes come from the families who trained the chefs and owners of Highwood's restaurants. Many of these recipes are used in the local restaurants.

In Highwood, there has long been a cottage industry of making ravioli, tortellini , tortellacci for the restaurants. Many of these people submitted their recipes, too.

While the recipes may have a community cookbook feel about them. Many are the root recipes used in local restaurants. This is according to my friend who is deep in the Highwood community.

First book has 250 recipes and the second has 500. I haven't seen either. I did make a few phone calls to respond as faithfully as I could to your query.

If I make it to their event on Sunday, I hope to read through and advise better.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
