Post #1 - May 13th, 2010, 10:50 pmJust heard that the Dairy Mart on route 47 might be closing...YIKES.....What shame...this place was great from their ice cream to their haddock dinners....This might be due to the widening of route 47......Rumor also has it..that a Starbucks might open on the site....just what we need, another Starbucks.......

Post #2 - May 14th, 2010, 10:55 amThat would be an absolute tragedy... my parents moved to Reed and 47 when I moved to Chicago, and Dairy Mart has been one of the highlights in the region, a region that also is unencumbered by a surplus of Starbucks as well.

Post #3 - May 14th, 2010, 6:39 pmIf it is true...it will be tragic......we moved into Huntley 14 years ago. Can't say moved out to Huntley because we lived in Marengo before...however...Huntley was a great farming town..had a Dairy farm down the road from us. That is long since gone and now maybe Dairy Mart....counting the days....

"The Huntley Dairy Mart was established in 1955 and has been a Huntley institution ever since. It will remain open throughout the upcoming Rt. 47 road construction and will continue serving our dedicated customers for years to come!"
