Hi, I can't find my old username, but I swear I used to visit here daily...anyway I have been away from Chicago on the left coast for two whole years, but now will be back for a whole week. What are the new must-try restaurants.

My personal favs while here were pretty typical:
Casual: Avec, May Street Market, A Tavola,
More Cas: Kumas, Hot Dougs, La Pasadita, Cemitas Puebla

I am sure I could go on, but I was wondering if I could get a few recs for anything new that I might not know about?

I have three dinners and a couple lunches that are not booked, so any suggestions are welcomed. I would like something a little different, so although I am sure there are a lot of great new places that can cook pork belly or a fancy burger perfectly I would love to try something more unique with my short time here.
What I have found: Publican and Purple Pig seem like winners..Drawing Room, Folklore, Epic, The Bristol

Any help is appreciated, although I couldn't find a best of 2010 post. Will follow up with a report of course.

Glad you made it off the island! I thought you went down with the sub.

Anyway, your list is a good start. You should also check the Great Neighborhood Restaurant list for anything that might be new to you.
