Toast, as every breakfaster knows, isn't really about the quality of the bread or how it's sliced or even the toaster. For man cannot live by toast alone. It's all about the butter. -- Adam Gopnik

    GAF--

This weekend, Sonoma Howie and I will be following the path through Flushing blazed by Pigmon & Trixie Pea. Any suggestions over there?

In Flushing there are some some Manchurian (Dongbei) restaurants. I didn't get out to Flushing this trip, but these restaurants are high on my list.

    Tnx GAF--

Yup, those are precisely the ones on our list. I was asking about taco places since we *might* need a break from dumplings, noodles, and chopsticks, and a taquito seems like just the proper sort of break-ingredient.

I was thinking that you were interested in Flushing. I don't know of taco places there. Corona and Jackson Heights seem like the places to do, and there are several places listed above.

A place more about the tortillas/masa than tacos, but I'd recommend Nixtamal in Corona. I've enjoyed their tacos, tamales and pozole.

    Tortilleria Nixtamal
    104-05 47th Avenue
    Corona, NY 11368

Walkable from Flushing -- just over a mile -- although the subway may be the better option depending on your time constraints. Three local stops from Flushing. About five minutes from the 103rd St./Corona Plaza station. On the edge of a fading Italian enclave, essentially across the street from Leo’s Latticini mentioned in the great post by Pigmon & Trixie Pea.
