Inspired by your post, we (unbeknowneth, baby, and I) also had a Mother's Day celebration at the gardens (however, we were dumb enough to go on the actual day, when it was utter chaos). We had a wonderful time, and, as you can see below, our son learned a few new things.
Any tulip fans should make the effort to go up there - it's well worth it.
We stopped for dinner at Larsa on the way home (we had originally planned for Pita Inn, but it was just too busy, and we'd been fighting crowds all day), and ended the day stuffed, and mostly asleep.
