    I found this strange contraption in our kitchen drawer. My mom says she got it at a kitchen party many moons ago, and we have no idea what it is. I was hoping some knowledgeable LTHers could identify this:

    I grew up with one of these in our kitchen drawer, too.. darned if I can remember what it's called. I always assumed it was for cutting sticky substances, with the scraper moving across to clear off the blade after each slice.

    Maybe I'll see if my mom can remember what she used it for..

    Sadly...I have no idea what it is...but somehow, now, I kind of want one....shiny new toy...

    You use it to make drop cookies. Squeeze it. Pick up a bunch of dough with the flat edge and let go of the squeeze to scrape cookie off onto the pan. Easy and useful.

    omg I have the exact same one and my mom told me it was for making drop cookies.
