All you eager noshers who grew up in the West Rogers Park neighborhood will remember Gulliver's. The outside featured a blinking neon sign at the intersection of Howard and California, while the interior featured copious amounts of kitsch.

Now Gulliver's has opened a location at Lake Avenue & Milwaukee in Glenview, just a puddle-jump from Chateau Fresser. Since it has been a while since I've noshed with Ronnie Suburban, Elfin and the other LTH luminaries, I propose that we have an official LTH Forum Soiree at Gulliver's sometime soon. Saturday nights are always fun, but I'm open to weeknight gatherings as well.

I propose we convene on July 10th at 7 P.M. All Aboard the Gulliver's Express!

Open up that calendar and pick a date, LTH'ers!!

As The GP suggested over on the other thread, it really would be more likely that people will sign up if YOU picked a date--or even narrowed it down to a couple of suggested choices. Looking forward to hearing more....

From Tips and Guidelines for Event Planners:
    For Planners:
    1. Choose a definite date and time. Saying "Sometime next week" will limit interest and result in a ton of people saying "maybe" and very few people committing to your event....
    3. Check the calendar. If you're looking for high turnout, check the calendar to look for conflicts. For example, you might not want to schedule a lunch on the same day as the annual picnic, whereas conflicting with a small-turnout weeknight dinner clear across town might not be a big deal.

"You're not going to like it in Chicago. The wind comes howling in from the lake. And there's practically no opera season at all--and the Lord only knows whether they've ever heard of lobster Newburg." --Charles Foster Kane, Citizen Kane.

    Thanks, Tarte!

I picked Saturday, July 10th as that date was open on the event calendar.

I don't know anything about Gulliver's. Can you tell me more?

We're full of Gulliver's pizza right now (with leftovers in the kitchen), but count 2 (maybe three) of us in.

    My fellow pizza noshers,

I'll put in a reservation under the name "Fresser" at Gulliver's for this Saturday night, July 10th.

What kind of turnout can we expect?

Whoops, forgot all about this -- we'll be out of the area, and won't be able to make it.
