Oh, is it time to scold people for what they choose to talk about?

Can I play? How 'bout this?

What's up with people that click on a thread called "sheeple's choice awards" only to poo-poo the topic? If people want to start a thread to discuss it, who are you to come in just to judge them for their choice of subject matter?

And now back to our original programming - I'll add Walker Brothers in Wilmette on a weekend morning.

Food here is definitely not worth the wait. It astounds me to see folks lined up out the door, waiting for this food . . .

I guess some things are just eternal. :)

Ronnie, I'll agree with you 99% on this one. However, I do have a weakness about once or twice a year for a German pancake. :)

Dave, if you've got a blender and a cast-iron skillet, you need never darken their door again. It's a much simpler variant of clafouti (easy enough anyway,) a slightly sweet popover. Linked is the simplest variant, but I've seen lemon-flavored ones without fruit filling as well - just do a google. Cinch.

Thanks for the recipe link. I just might give it a try.

Well, call me a sheeple, but I like Walker Brothers (although I think I've only waited in line once to eat there).

I like it too, and the good news is, Walker Brothers all day any weekday is like Kuma's between 3:30 and 3:45.

Don't feel sorry for me - Keeps me from having to stand in line ;-) Except when I have to bring out-of-towners there.

Can't remember if this one has been mentioned in this thread (quicks search says no) but I nominate Kitsch'n on Roscoe for a Sheeple's Choice Award. Every six months a combination of wanting to support a neighborhood business and laziness of not wanting to get in the car brings me to Kitsch'n. Every time I realize, I JUST DON'T GET IT. Hipster server was too busy learning soccer with the busboy to even realize I was sitting at the counter for five minutes. Food (ham and cheese omelet) was flavorless and somehow had magical cheese that had congealed immediately, even though it went straight from kitchen to me. Omelet + Iced Tea + Tip = $16. I don't mind paying $16 for breakfast but I would prefer it to be good. Maybe Patty's and Cornerstone have ruined breakfast for me, I don't know. I definitely should of gotten in the car this morning.

Please withhold comments about how I should of walked to Victory's Banner. I like the place, I like the food but sometimes the whole veggie thing just won't cut it when wanting a good greasy breakfast.
