Interesting thread on a food board, but since I'm a lover of music and especially not the norm, thought I'd add my two cents.

I've been listening to My Morning Jacket all morning, they do a nice remake of Rocket Man that has played on shuffle a few times, not sure how that happened. But good none the less.

Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams
December 20, 2007 — Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals.

Isle of the Dead, op. 29 and Symphony No. 1, op. 13 by Rachmaninoff, performed by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra/Andrew Litton. Really fantastic. Love that rockin' Allegro con fuoco at the end.

    Pie Lady,

I heard Vladimir Jurowski lead the CSO in a thrilling rendition of The Isle of the Dead a few months ago, as part of their Beyond the Score series of concerts.

His recording of The Isle with the LPO on their private label is outstanding. I'm very fond of Rachmanninof's 2nd symphony myself.

'Hey, I was there too! I was at the La Mer one too last month. Where were you sitting?"

    Pie Lady,

For Beyond the Score concerts, I like to sit in the Orchestra section, and for regular concerts I prefer the Terrace, where I have a great view of everything the conductor and musicians are doing.

    Seriously, the Cubs?

We've been able to see the Cubs recently on WGN America and I must say it's a toss-up whether they could beat the locals (Savannah Sand Gnats).

On the other hand, who woulda thunk the Sox could be .500 after today
