That is what I have, I will check with my source.

I've seen it as Maurice as well, though in my last conversation with Mr. Brunetti he used the name Morris. Also heard a story about how Herb, Morris's son, became an accountant.

Possibly. Better the new sushi than the new cupcake. :)

My late Father-in-law was named Morris, but frequently was addressed as Maurice. I think the names are often interchangable, although my Grandfather was always Morris (never Morrie).

I have a cousin who spells it "Maurice" but pronounces it "Morris."

My ex and his late father were both Maurices, pronounced 'Morris." As my ex was a IV, I assume that Granddad and Great-Granddad did the same. :) It's a very common anglicized pronunciation of what was a name of French origin, from what Mo IV told me.

When Hammond declared, "Let the Contention Begin," I assumed he was talking about who served up the best 'Que in town. As it turns out, the drama is all about how to spell and/or pronounce "Maurice".

I think we should spell it "Hortense" and pronounce it "Floyd".

But I'm a free thinker, so...
