    LTH,

I recently noticed walking by a loop Subway store, that they're now offering a felafel sandwich, which is also available on their new flatbread. I'd have to be mighty desperate to try this sandwich.

Imagine this: A 12" Subway "felafel" sandwich with Ranch dressing, American cheese, and pre-cut veggies out of plastic bags.

And you can enjoy it with an add on of guacamole!

from what Ive read about the Subway falafel sandwich incarnation uses a creamy cucumber sauce (IE like tzatziki sauce) and not Ranch dressing. With that fact still the image of the sandwich doesn't look too appetizing. I assume the falafel balls are premade and oven baked and lying around in a toppings container which kills the falafel! :)

Given that falafel shops in the Loop are becoming as ubiquitous as Subway shops (I passed three on Van Buren the other day while walking to a fourth), they're arriving a little late to the game -- and with the wrong equipment.

I find myself drawn to these ads to the point where I should probably start avoiding Subways while really hungry. I don't know that I ever actually want to ride the snake itself but I do kind of want to frame the poster as art in my home.

I kind of liked it...

The falafel is pretty good, albeit a bit dry, but in its full sandwich glory, it's surprisingly good. They really should have 'designed it' with red onions... really missing something without them and salt and pepper.
