Over the last few weeks I have seen a hot dog cart on various spots along S Western Ave. Tuesday it was on the NW corner of 54th and Western. Looked band new, all stainless with a Vienna umbrella. I don't think it was part of a store promotion but I hope to stop next week to check it out.

I thought Daley put the kabosh on those things for "sanitation" reasons?

There are some that are allowed in Chicago Park district locations. Not sure whether that applies or not. There's a cart all summer in Wells Park across from Taquieria El Asadero. I asked them about it once, they pointed to the numerous city stickers displayed on the cart. Evidently the licenses aren't cheap but they provide a good return.

At The Lawrence Red Line stop, in front of The Kinetic Playground on some, usually weekend, nights there is a hot dog cart called: WHAT UP DOG? It is pretty good and out there real late. Chicago dogs, Polish and even chili and slaw dogs.
