I was driving around Midway last wknd, coming N on Cicero, crossed over Archer, and saw this beacon of light:

Twas only a matter of time until I investigated....
Front and center, right on the menu. They had BETTER deliver the goods:

It's a dive - make no mistake about it. The menu lists a bunch of stuff - including mariscos. Carnitas y birria fin de semana also. Counter with a few chairs facing the prep area, and a couple of four or five tables. Standard issue taqueria. What I tried:
Taco dinner:

This was grilled and held (I got there about 7:50 Thurs pm) It was tasty enough. Definitely flame grilled. Nicely seasoned.
The drill looks to be the same as most others. Peak time means fresh off the grill steak.
Chicken Taco:

Grilled white meat. Good enough. Wish it was dark meat, but at least it wasn't the standard boiled in salty red sauce stuff a lot of joints sling out.
Salsa:

The verde was weak today. The red was a very smokey salsa de chile arbol - sneaky hot. I dug it.
So, all in all, this is probably a great spot for some carne asada tacos if you're in the area. Maybe a stop while waiting for an airport pickup if you are not wanting goat or carne en su jugo. From what I sampled, I wouldn't drive past Tierra Caliente, Las Asadas, Asadero, or Zacatacos to get here, but I definitely didn't get their A game, and it was still pretty solid. I'm betting you can do really well here if the fresh steak is being served.
