Anyone had any good ones (not pasty or bland) in/near Chicago?

This was the only dish I found to be good at the Heartland Cafe on Lunt. It wasn't always consistent, but when it was on, it was on.

Spring World's are my favorite; they also have them at Lao Sze Chuan and perhaps the other Laos.

Älternativ: I also enjoy the cold peanut-sesame noodles at Lula Cafe.

Not quite so punchy, but I had a very decent version at Szechwan Kingdom lately.

    Lupita,

I have been on a long-term search for a recipe for one of
the most divine dishes served anywhere in the Chicago North suburbs:

The cold sesame noodles served at
    Lulu's
    804 Davis Street
    Evanston, IL
    (847) 869-4343

Lulu's is one of my all-time favorites.
They have a grazing option on Sun/Mon that has risen recently in pricing but is still an amzaing experience if you enjoy variety and have a large appetite.
I heartily recommend you try them and please post after you have and let us know your opinion.

    Jill
