This time with her "Phunky BBQ Pho with Pork".

    http://www.vietworldkitchen.com/blog/20 ... y-pho.html

Andrea Nguyen points out the following things about Rachel's recipe:

    1. On her Food Network website Rachel identifies pho as a "Thai-inspired soup [...] loaded with exotic flavors".

    2. Andrea points out that: "Rachel Ray’s Phunky BBQ Pho with Pork calls for garlic, angel hair pasta, and plum and hoisin sauce, among other ingredients such as canned chicken broth and ginger."

    3. A bit further on Andrea notes: "The pork is seared and then cooked in the oven with broth. Is that the BBQ part? No, she puts hoisin on it at the end in the bowl."

And finally: "No fish sauce, though the garnishes of red onion, mint, cilantro, bean sprouts, and Sriracha brings the pho a tiny closer to being pho." A teensy, tiny bit closer in my book.

N.B. 'Twould appear that Rachel's minions have disabled the Food Network webpage with the offending recipe, thankfully...
"Barbecue sauce is like a beautiful woman. If it’s too sweet, it’s bound to be hiding something."

"How do you say 'Yum-o' in Swedish? Or is it Swiss? What do they speak in Switzerland?"- Rachel Ray

No one has 'disabled' anything - it's right here. It's not a Food Network recipe, it's from her unbearable Oprah-enabled talk show.

Re: her geographically-challenged note regarding the provenance of pho, remember that this poor woman doesn't seem to know that Sweden and Switzerland are not the same country. . .

Great. A thread dedicated to criticizing Rachel Ray. How original. I wonder if Anthony Bourdain has an opinion.
