    CALLING ALL BEER AFICIONADOS!

In continuation with the Potter’s Lounge beverage series launched this summer, the interactive tasting class will take a turn in the direction of beer this September. Offering patrons an experience to learn from some of the industry’s most lauded Brewmasters, each week will feature a new brewery at the speakeasy-themed lounge in the Palmer House Hilton.

Offered every Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m., each class will be hosted by Palmer House Beverage Manager Patrick Coyne along with an expert from the week’s highlighted brewery. Classes will take guests on a step-by-step tasting journey, focusing on the education of the entire brewing process unique to each represented company as they sip on unique flavor profiles. A specialty menu of bites ranging from $5-$12 will be offered to guests featuring items such as truffled potato chips, sweet chili wings and bruschetta.

The Potter’s Lounge Brewmaster series line-up for September includes:

    September 2- Abita Brewing Company
September 9- Goose Island Brewing Company
    September 16- Samuel Adams
    September 23- Leinenkugel Brewing Company
September 30- Half Acre Beer Company

Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (312) 917-3404 or online at http://www.potterschicago.com for the $20/per person class.

Wagstaff Worldwide continues its long run of incompetent PR.

And I was wondering why the first of the two posts (ie, Potter's Lounge Brewmaster Series) was posted as an LTH event? Surely it isn't....

Why not post event details for those who may be interested in beer and may be interested in attending a brewmaster event? I like to share event details here because I think members may want to attend, especially if it's a wine class or wine tasting. Am I in the wrong to share the knowledge?

    Hey Jaime,

The issue was that the "LTH Event" checkmark is meant if it's an event "by LTHers, for LTHers, like the picnic, the food exchanges, LTH-planned dinners, etc -- I don't think the person complaining about this was referring to your post, but to the other identical post about this same event from over a week ago. A tip on that front: coordinate the PR efforts a little better, since I don't think this is the first (or even second or third time) an event has been posted twice by someone with wagstaff.

The other issue is that the topic says the goose island tasting is 9/16, but the body of the post says it's 9/9.

    Hope this clears things up.

    Thanks Ed!

Just thinking that I never saw an "LTH Event" checkmark with this post, but I will make note of that for future. I am also thinking that the post subject does say 9/9 so if it was a typo with 9/16, I am sure it was corrected right away. Sad to not share events like this, in such a fun setting as the forum, without constant ridicule from a few certain LTHers.

    This does clear things up,
    Jaime

You're right, I pointed out the error so that your on-the-ball Wagstaffer could edit the post with the correct info. No thanks necessary.

I'm sure I'm high on your list of "certain LTHers," so let me clarify. I am not suggesting that you and your firm should stop sharing events like this. I am simply suggesting that you should be more professional in the way you do it.

    Hi,

There is also the expectation that posters report an issue rather than taking an issue into their own hands. It just makes this board feel more inviting when things are handled discretely.

    Regards,
