A little over a mile east and north of Patty's is another little diner serving breakfast and lunch. Ted's has garnered some positive mentions here, but mostly has operated off LTH's radar.
Thumbs Up for Ted's:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=26525&hilit=ted+s+evanstonFirst opened in 1972 by the Smyrniotes family, Ted's served employees of a nearby manufacturing plant (now gone), delivery truck drivers, and neighborhood residents. In recent years, the site was leased to several tenants before the children of the original owner returned, renovated the space, and reopened it under the original name in 2009.
Ted's menu consists of all of the usual breakfast and lunch suspects--as well as the "baked hamburger dog" with secret sauce, a family creation. Prices are inexpensive. So please plan to join this month's Evanston Lunch Group on Thursday, September 23, at 12:30 pm to check out the diner menu at Ted's. All are welcome!
