Well, maybe not that big...but close.
I got serious fish envy yesterday dining at a Japanese dive in Seattle where I was served huge, honking slabs of fish on rice. The fish not only overflowed the rice on all sides, but was about as thick as the rice as well. Most diners did not bother trying to balance the super-sized sushi with their chopsticks, and just picked up each piece with their fingers and dunked 'em into soy sauce. With even a big mouth like mine, I couldn't take a whole piece in one bite. Just what I was waiting for, all of the fish, and none of the wait. You will not walk out hunger after eating a plate full of these. Even better, the prices were extremely reasonable at $1.50 a piece.
Also present on the menu were those triangular shaped rice-balls, filled with salmon, and wrapped in seaweed. Fast food in Japan, and now here as well.
