Date: Tuesday, September 21st - 6:30 p.m. - Canceled!!! Sorry for the mix up- will reschedule for October.

Location: Oak Park. Green Line (Oak Park stop) is a 15 minute walk. Parking is available on side streets one block away.

I have one cat who will hide under the bed, so allergen alert.

    Basic exchange rules:
    1) I'll provide a light vegetarian dinner and drinks. (Please let me know if you have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions.)
    2) Bring one dessert, no need to double or triple the recipe, there's always plenty!
    3) Bring containers for taking your portions of each dessert home. We nibble on the desserts at the exchange and then all take samples home. You'll probably need at least a few good sized containers.
    4) Come hungry!

Everyone is welcome! Event is capped at 8 people (incl. me) due to space limitations.

    Attendees:

    2. justjoan

Normally I'd be able to attend since it's not on the first Monday of the month, but I'm starting Monday night rehearsals on the 13th. :( Enjoy folks.

Joan looks like she's now cancelled it for September and looking for an October date.

May I suggest October 26th? I've got a heavy trial call in October.

Additionally, I have flour from Industrial Harvest. I was hoping that everyone can arrange to meet before the October date and take some flour and make a dessert with it.

PM me. I would like to invite the Industrial Harvest lady. Yep, I got the idea from justjoan.

pairs4life, sorry to disappoint you, but i'm pretty sure melissa is going to pick the first TUESDAY in october and will be posting soon. that was my idea. none of the people who first organized the dessert exchange and picked monday are coming any more, and mondays are a bad day for me, always and with melissa having a monday night class, i thought we'd keep to the first week of the month but try a tuesday and see if any of the usual suspects are available. we already skipped september, i dont want to wait until the end of october to meet.

maybe the easiest way to share the IH flour is to divvy it up at the next dessert exchange and we can use it for the following one. as long as it stays refrigerated or frozen it'll be fresh. joan

I like the idea of Tuesdays, too. I'm sorry I had to rush off at the last dessert exchange, but I'll be looking forward to October!

I would lean towards a weekend or later in the week Thursdays or Fridays work best for me. "School nights" are just too hard for me.

Then since I won't make the next dessert exchange (Trial next day). I'm wondering if people can contact me and pick up flour. The woman from Industrial Harvest is in town until the end of October. I think it would be great if she could see what happened with the flour.

If we're discussing other days, Sundays would work best for me. Whatever we end up on, I do like the idea of having a set date each month - makes it easier to plan for.

If Mondays were working- we can leave it at that. I'll be totally bummed missing all the good treats, but don't want to throw a wrench in the all ready set system. I'm out on Mondays until January; which means someone would have to offer to host for next month.

If as a group we are up to changing the days, it sounds like, Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday may work. I agree with Eli- we need to set it for a certain day, so everyone can pencil it in.

So if Mondays were working for everyone, yes I'll cry just a bit, but would understand.

Pairs4life- thanks for the flour offer. I will take some. I'll PM you with some dates.

That sounds great to me. I may actually be able to do that in October, but it is Alistair's birthday, so I need to see what he wants to do that day before I commit to anything.

someone is always going to have a conflict. obviously, pairs4life, if you can't host in october because you make other plans-i'll be happy to host. but if others weigh in and like sundays, i think we should go for it. joan

I prefer Mondays, but Sunday nights are also okay - plenty of time to cook on the weekend but I won't have to get up early/stay home on a Saturday night. But majority rules, so keep me posted!
