A coworker asked me where to find olive bread. My first thought was Corner Bakery, but they've stopped offering it according to my coworker. It looks like Red Hen has it. Any other recommendations?

    Thanks!

Depends on how much and when you need it, since I have limited info, but an enthusiastic recommnedation: at the Logan Square farmer's market on Sundays, there is a baker who only sells a few things, and one of them is za'atar olive bread. It is really impressively delicious (I'm sorry I don't know her name, but her stand is on the grassy median part of the market and she's there consistently).

I've seen it before at Fox & Obel. I don't know if they always sell it.

I hope the husband doesn't see this, else I will need to make a loaf. I've managed to avoid doing so, but somehow I suspect I will grab some olives tomorrow.

Pastoral (at least the Broadway location) usually has it.

Red Hen is where I've gotten olive bread most recently. It's been a long time, but I used to get olive bread at Whole Foods that was OK.

Convito, in Wilmette, might still carry their excellent olive bread – and several other specialty breads.

Probably not convenient to you, but FWIW, I like Medici Bakery's olive bread. Chewy, oily (in a good way), usually pretty densely studded with black olives. Available at their stor on 57th, and elsewhere in Hyde Park (Hyde Pk. Produce on 53rd, and the little market started up last year by a U. of C. grad on 55th.)

You just got me in the mood for their parmesan/peppercorn sourdough.

Jewel has it as well.. The first time I saw it I was skeptical, but it actually is not that bad. We got ours from the Jewel at Berwyn/Broadway although I'm sure they all carry it. Dominick's also carries it.

I was in Foodstuffs in Evanston yesterday and they had loaves of it available. They said they have it most of the time, but sometimes sell out. Call first.

Bennison's has excellent olive bread. They sell it at Green Grocer if you're closer to downtown.

I know Eatzi's has it too.

Where is there an Eatzi's? The one on Clark closed a while ago.
