The Dollar General ad in this Sunday's paper posted a recipie for Oreo brownies. Just add 15 crumbled Oreos to packaged brownie mix batter and bake. My teeth hurt reading this.

Dollar General was one of the places I quickly assessed as not helpful for the food desert project; their food section is A-W-F-U-L, particularly the local one on Howard St. The recipe doesn't surprise me - what they don't tell you is they don't have eggs or even egg substitute for you to make the pancake batter with; their dairy case is filled with gallon jugs of no-juice-in-it "fruit" punch.

Anyone knows all you need to make Oreo brownies is a package of Oreos, humidity, and time.

I prefer to think of it the other way around: Diamonds are the Oreos of the soul.
