Where does one go for a Korean meal at lunchtime?

I think of there as a go-to BBQ place, more in line with a 15 dollar+ bigger meal not necessarily a "lunch menu" kind of place. am I wrong? Is there a "lunch menu" there?

I go to Crystal fairly often. It's not a bbq place at all, but their daily specials are good and I can also highly recommend their mandu and any of the soups.

Thanks for the Crystal reference y'all! I'll try it next week for lunch. kind of hard to beat 6 and 7 dollar menu items.

I'm on a newer mission to try and eat veggies with every meal and Korean cuisine makes it easy.

Kang Nam on Kedzie Ave in Albany Park is delish, and has a lunch menu "bento box" type special for around $9 pp.
I've been there several times, and highly recommend it!

There, being San Soo Gap San, has nine lunch soup specials at $5.95. Volcanic hot brimming bowls of goodness served with rice and a wide array of panchan. Any number of regular menu dishes for less than ten dollars. While I slightly prefer Crystal for lunch, San Soo Gab San is a worthy lunch choice.

There are a number of choices in that area, So Gong Dong Tofu House specializing in tofu soup, Han Bat specializing in sul lung tang, Kang Nam Galbi, a BBQ joint that has terrific Dolsot, Ssyal Ginseng House specializing in wonderful pots of restorative ginseng chicken soup.

I could probably think of 5-6 additional with no problem. Even more if you extended the boundary to Dempster. Chun Ju and TTOWA for example.

Almost forgot the food court at Joong Boo (Chicago Food Corp) with the bonus of shopping after lunch.

Lots of choices, do a little digging, eat a few meals and let us know what you find.

just so you know, not that I spent more than 20 minutes googing, SSGS, doesn't seem to have an official website. I've come up with 4 different menus with various prices and offerings.......meaning it looks like they cater to BBQ and "dinner".

I've been there 15 or so times but always in the evening (dinner) and always leaving with a beer and garlic buzz, which I'm not looking for at my lunches.
