Fresh Market in Kildeer has Brown Turkey Figs and Black Mission Figs.

Saw fresh figs at the South Loop Trader Joe's today, green and black.

I often feel that figs are so overlooked coming as they do during the height of stone fruit season. Who can get excited about these ugly little fruit when there are beautiful peaches to eat! But we love them.

We like fresh figs with plain greek yogurt and honey for breakfast. Add a bel vita breakfast biscuit and a cup of good coffee and we are in great fettle for the day.

Jerry's is very reliable for fresh dark figs at this time of year. They also often have fresh green figs. Both come in pint plastic baskets. And Jerry's has Fage greek yogurt at a great price.

Produce World on Dempster also has fresh figs. They are generally of very high quality, sometimes quite large and sometimes are sold by the piece or by the box.

Meijer in Berwyn had black mission figs and Green Tiger Figs (which I'd never seen before) yesterday.
