I've had a package of Louis Kemp crab-like product in my refrigerator for, let's say, several weeks. Meant to make some kind of crab-like salad but didn't get around to it. It's shrink-wrapped and airtight, but was it pasteurized before packaging? Any votes on if it's safe to eat now? Intrepid as I generally am about leftovers, and as crappy as many aspects of my life are right now, I'm not in the mood to die. Certainly not by imitation crabmeat.

If you look at the package there should be a use or freeze by date on it....
It's probably good for a week or two after that.
    (if it's sealed)
Once it's opened, I'd use it within a few days.

In the future, if you don't use that stuff when you had planned to,
you can toss it in the freezer and it keeps forever
I used to keep a package on hand and make a crab and sweet pea quiche that was a big hit in the DBK (days before kids)

There's only one way to know, and you won't like it.
    1. Open
    2. Smell

Last time I used it, I just used about a third of the package, stuck it in a zip lock and it was still good over 2 weeks later. I probably should split a package in 2 after I buy it, stick each half in a freezer zip lock and freeze, I never use a whole package.
