Lately I've had a hankering for gyros. After working a wedding Saturday at the Botanic Garden (yes, including an outdoor reception, coatless, in 45 degree weather) I decided I deserved a gyros when I got out. But when after walking light years from the venue to the parking lot, it was about 10:30 at night, and I couldn't think of a place open that late, especially not in those parts. On the way back to the 'hood, I passed Papa Chris (closed) and I figured I might as well check out Nick's on Harlem & Touhy, but it was also closed.

What gyros places are open at least til Midnight, especially out towards the 'burbs? Discount any family restaurants that have gyros on the menu, those places are never quite the same as fast food.

    Thanks!

Kings Gyros @ Milwaukee & Foster is open to 4:30 AM on the weekends. Beware it is a magnet for drunks driving in from various NW side locations and the CPD who want to bust them.

Not 24 hours, but Hub's in Skokie (3727 W. Dempster Ave.) might squeeze in under your other criteria if you're really craving gyros.... It's open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

It seems there's been a divorce and Mr Gyros is on his own now.

While I do love me some Suzie's, their gyro meat comes from frozen strips.
