My husband has been looking for a sushi class for months now (not that there's a shortage of them around here, he's just procrastinated on making a decision on one) and then today's Groupon came along:

Is anyone familiar with I WISH? My husband doesn't want to be a sushi chef or anything, but if they're not even worth the $25, then we won't do it.

Here's the place the classes are generally held at:

I don't know anything about I WISH, but I wouldn't expect much from a sushi class held at a jazz club.

Yeah, this was our concern too. Of course, that could just be the venue. Who knows who they have teaching it.

Does anyone have a sushi class they'd recommend?

Haven't been myself but friends who attended The Fish Guy's class said it was good.

    Hi abe_froeman,

I'm familar with the GroupOn Twisted Sushi class. My wife bought the class for me as a gift. She had once before bought me a class from Patrick Chabert, in Wheeling...it was excellent!

I made it to the Twisted Sushi class a couple of weeks ago, kinda. It's located in a large wharehouse building, that is actually a decent sized kitchen for rent per event. They overbooked us, my friend and I had absolutely NO room to do anything...I'm not sure what had happened with the schedule. We asked if we could come back at another time which didn't seem to be a problem.

During the time I was in the kitchen I was paying attention to what was going on. I'm not sure what the level your looking for...but what I saw was a complete disappointment. I was hoping to really excell my sushi into another level. They were making rolls with precooked chicken out of a store bought bag. Need I go further?

It did however look like everyone was having a great time though. I suppose it's all what you're looking for.

    :( ,
