I tried to search this but came up empty.

I live in Park Ridge and would like to get some suggestions for my wife and I to go out to dinner. We are relatively new to the area. I would like to get some simliar suggestions from everyone here.

Here is basically what I am looking for. Within 20-30 minute drive from Park Ridge. My wife and I went up to Coopers Hawk in Wheeling the other night and liked it but would like to find a non-chain / non-strip mall restaurant. I would like to get out of the Park Ridge / Edison Park area and explore. Glenview, Wheeling, etc... or south.

Preferably a little upper end but not over the top. I am considering Prarie Grass Cafe but may have trouble getting a reservation this Friday. Someplace with great food and a solid wine list

Any suggestions or favorites to reccomend? Let 'er rip!

    Thanks!

Another recommendation for Zia's Trattoria in Edison Park. I used to go a fair amount for lunch when I worked out near O'Hare. Hadn't been back for a while, but my wife and I had a appointment out that way last years in teh evening and stopped in for dinner after. Same as I remember. The prices had gone up a bit, though... not sure if that's inflation, difference between lunch and dinner menu or combination of both. My favorite dish there is the pork tenderloin wrapped in procuitto.

Thanks for the reccomendations. Zia's is awesome. My wife and I live 5 minutes away...walking! We have been there plenty of times and love it. We would like to jump in the car for a change of pace.

    Great suggestions! Keep em coming!

    Head west to:

    Chef Ping

Or go any direction using LAZ's slightly dated Suburban non-Wasteland Guide

Or stay in Park Ridge and try the new Romano's. The pizza is a good thin crust, the calamari is executed well, the antipasto salad is tasty and abundant, and it is the only 2am bar in our town, which only recently shook off the shackles of the temperance movement.
