Who Should I Use for Chinese Delivery in River North

Last night I found myself wanting the best Chinese delivery (I live in River North). Settled for Big Bowl because I didn't recognize the names of the other places.

Help me LTH members--what's the best I can do for delivery of Chinese in River North?

Btw, tried a search and nothing came up for my area.

Unfortunately, whatever the answer to your question may be, even "the best" delivery place will not be very good. I've had some luck ordering from Eat First #2, but I like to stick to exciting items like pork fried rice, shrimp egg foo young and Singapore noodles. The Kung Pao and Moo Shu are edible and the shrimp in lobster sauce has varied as the shrimp have had an odd consistency from time to time.

no delivery, but there is a new chinese place in the lobby of the whitehall hotel that looks promising. mei's corner 105 east delaware.

I'm staying in River North later this month and looked around for possible delivery options. I swear I saw that Chi Cafe and Furama both deliver to River North area.

When we lived in the area, we ordered from Yu Choy a lot with success.

Hong Kong Cafe delivers, though I don't know their delivery range, and they have more limited hours than what you might be looking for.

No disrespect, but this place is awful. I would never recommend it.

I tried to place a delivery order last week and was told they were not set up for it. The very apologetic lady I spoke to said she hadn't hired anyone to take delivery orders and didn't seem sure if or when she would.

Thanks for the correction pinzu! Sorry, their menu says they deliver so I just assumed -- should have confirmed.

My understanding is that they do deliver but perhaps not widely. You might have more luck going in for lunch, introducing yourself and discussing it in person--may seem like a lot of trouble to go to but if the food is good, it might be worth it I have it on good authority that they've done exactly this for customers who've come in to the restaurant.

What about the Chinatown branch?

That's the Uptown location. I was referring to the Chinatown one which, according to Grubhub at least, does deliver to River North area. As does Sweet Station.

There's no delivery staff yet. The owner said she has had to make deliveries herself, and without a car. My Michigan/Wacker office was determined to be too far. You may indeed need to put in a special appearance at the restaurant to secure delivery privileges, as well as be within a block or two.

Emperor Wok on ashland and Diversey. they aren't in the area but they will deliver to most of River North.

I stand corrected, I didn't even know there's a Chinatown location. I live close to the northside location, but have never been impressed.

It's pricey for Chinese delivery, and the avondale original location is better, but for river north, you won't do better than this sadly. I've pretty much given up on chinese delivery in River north, every place I've tried has been beyond horrible, and instead just drive out to Sun Wah or Chinatown.

Indeed -- when I lived in the River North area I gave up, and realized that good Chinese delivery would only be obtained by delivering myself to Chinatown via the Red Line. Though Friendship was not there when I lived in that area.

Lan's Old Town isn't bad. It's not great, either, but this is truly a Chinese delivery wasteland.

Joy Yee Noodles delivers as far North as Chicago Ave.

After numerous try outs, the winner is....Sweet Station. They are great and they deliver from Chinatown via GrubHub. I love the food from Sweet Station and they are light years beyond anything else we can get for delivery.

No disrespect, but had delivery from JoyYee and it was borderline inedible.
