As any blogger knows, people frequently leave comments with the intention of getting their link on your site. One such comment was left on one of my blogs today -- though with no pretense that it was for anything else besides selling the commodity discussed in my post (caviar). I've searched the forum using a variety of search terms, and nothing turns up about this site, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows about it..

The only reason I care is that, if it's a great company that ought to get some traffic, I want to approve the comment and let them get whatever my site might send them. But if it's a questionable operation, I don't want to leave the comment.

The offerings look fabulous, if it's legit. So let me know if you've seen this place before and if I should let them use my site (and possibly this post) to get more business.

    Thanks.

A quick check of the interweb indicates they are in Chapter 11. They're based in Miami.

That's a pity -- that they're in Chapter 11, that is, not that they're in Miami. I'm always sorry when someone's dream dies.

As for searching the Internet, the searches I did simply came up with dozens of places they left links, rather than any clear news. I did find they were in Miami, but that was it. So thanks for the info.

Don't know if reorganizing signals the best time to buy from them (help them out, get good deals) or the worst (pay and receive nothing). Though that said, living near Chicago makes Internet shopping less necessary and therefore less attractive.

    Hi,

Chapter 11 is reorganization with some hope they will manage to survive.

Chapter 7 is when all assets are dissolved.

If you buy with a credit card and it is not delivered, then you can recover your money from the credit card company.

Many times a week we have posts whose sole function is to get their link out there and hopefully their search engine status raised. No contribution to the discussion, no knowledge offered, just some blather they think to justify their existence. It is nipped almost every time with our community alerting the moderators.

I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about this firm.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Yep -- I do know there are a load of people trying to just boost traffic. I've seen them here, and I've gotten tons of them on my blogs (though I know not nearly as many as the forum has gotten). But this one had a more thoughtful post, rather than the usual mindless stuff, so I thought perhaps they were better -- especially since they offered so many luxury items (lobster, truffles, molossal caviar). But that's why I posted -- to find out if they were someone's favorite place to shop --or terrible. But they appear to be an unknown quantity.

And I won't worry about them in particular. I just feel badly in general for people who can't get dreams off the ground. It's not an easy time to be trying to start a new business.

    But thanks for responding.
