I had a good lunch at Flower Flat Cafe last week and was surprised not to see it mentioned anywhere I could find on LTH. Not that I'm shocked it's been flying under the radar. A
Center Stage review calls the space "precious" and I think that's pretty on-point. Tiny might also be appropriate. On one side of the entrance is a flower store, take a left instead and the other side has 5 tables or so.
Menu is larger than I expected, but not unrestrained. Some breakfast fare, salads, sandwiches, etc. I got a waffle, gently but noticeably spiced, that was topped with incredibly sweet, fresh fruit. Nice crispy crust and fluffy interior, just a touch denser than I would have liked. My DC got a rather ample sandwich, 3 meats (which have since been forgotten) with a basil mayo. I didn't taste it but she was a big fan. IIRC, the waffle and sandwich were each about $6-7. Service was very friendly and attentive, great neighborhood vibe to the whole place.
