My father is in a nursing home in Bloomingdale. I get out there once a week to see him and I've been bringing him lunch when I get out there. A week ago was his first outside meal and he wanted McDonalds. He wanted the same thing today. I told him I can't take McDonalds any more so he has to choose something else. Well next week it's going to be Buena Beef. I guess that's an example of being careful what you wish for :D

But he also mentioned that he would like Chinese food. I'm not familiar with the area at all. All I know is I get off 355 at Army Trail Rd. So I need some suggestions for Chinese take-out in the area. He's 80 years old and is basically looking for what we call Jewish Chinese. Kow Kow would be the perfect example. So I'm looking for any suggestions in the area.

Head north a few miles to Yu's Mandarin in Schaumburg. Not quite cantonese, and striving for "authentic", but plenty of preparations friendly to less adventurous palates may be found there.

Maybe you're in trouble, or maybe you're about to find the next hidden gem!

Maybe you might wana think about stopping at places you're familiar with before you trek out there, and ordering some known good stuff that will survive the travel time? Can you think of any spots kind of on the way?
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Well this is where we get into trouble. My father gets really insane if I'm not there by 11:30. Since I work in Itasca I've got a few spots in that area and it's only about 15-20 minutes from there. But timing would have to be really good to get to a place just as they open and still make it before everybody in the home finds out I'm a no good son that promised to come see my sick father and stood him up.
