The windows of the space that formerly housed Corosh (1072 North Milwaukee Avenue) are papered over and a new sign has been hung reading "FRONTIER". The old Corosh name is still above the entrance, however.

The Mount Prospect Jouirnal and Topics confirmed a couple of things we already knew about:
    1) Papadeaux in Arlington Heights is closing. AH is concerned that they won't be able to find another restaurant to fit something that big.
    2) Claim Jumper in Wheeling is closing, contrary to previous reports that their bankruptcy wouldnt' affect the operations.

I had been wondering about that. It's a huge space to sit empty. It might work as a banquet hall, or possibly a nightclub. But I can't see another full-service restaurant opening there in this economy.

That area has not been lucky for restaurants, really. I miss that Popeyes Cajun Kitchen that used to be there, too.

Jameson's Charhouse is taking over the former Boston Blackie's spot inside the Doubletree Hotel in Skokie. Scheduled opening sometime in December.

That space should not have real signage. Everything needs to be on chalkboard or dry-erase. Maybe even Etch-a-Sketch for menus. On the plus side, it's probably keeping the sign business afloat on the North Shore.

How about Post-it Notes? By a coincidence, the Boston Blackie's sign is coming down today.

Thanks for the heads up, for me it's 10 minutes closer than the Arl Hts location so I am very happy to hear the news. If anyone is going to break the streak of busts in that space, I would bet a good amount of dough that Jameson's will be the outfit to pull it off. Their formula is a proven success and I'm pretty sure each location (the original in Mt Prospect, Arlington Hts, Bloomingdale, Crystal Lake, and any others I may be forgetting) turns in consistently brisk numbers.

The ownership down the road at EJ's can't be happy with this news. :?

I couldn't find any mention of this...so pardon me if I overlooked it.

After 41 years in the same spot, Poochie's is moving about 2 blocks east and plans to be in the new spot in February. They expect to be closed only 2 days to move some equipment.

The new spot will be larger and have better parking.
