Korean BBQ in Naperville area?

Could someone recommend a Korean BBQ place in the Naperville area? I'm looking for a place where you can grill at the table and where the appetizers are also varied and fresh.

The only one I know of in the western suburbs is on Cass Ave in Westmont. Don't know of any others if I did I would be there in a flash!!!

There was one on the outer edge of the Fox Valley Mall near McDonald's but it only lasted a year.

Isn't there one on Maple Ave in Lisle, in the Korean shopping market across the street from Four Lakes?

I tried this place over a year ago and thought it was pretty good, although a bit pricey. Has anyone tried it more recently? And is this really the only Korean BBQ in the Naperville/Lisle area?

Yep. Sad isn't it? If you want real Korean Barbecue of good quality, you have to go to the city.

On a similar subject, Cho Deng Tofu Village (Ogden Plaza) has been bought out and seems to be evolving into a more full service restaurant, featuring more Korean BBQ, but not grilled at the table. Cannot comment on any part of the menu (which was unchanged on this visit, so it is just my speculation based on some signage that the menu will be changing) other than the Tofu soup and Panchan, but based upon that I do cry, "downward alert." Not an auspicious first visit, and it was so disappointing that despite this place being on my regular lunch rotation for years, serving food that I love and cannot easily find elsewhere in the area, and this being perfect weather for tofu soup, I am not sure if I will go back.

On the other hand, had spicy beef noodle soup at Mapo, a place I do not frequent that often, and it was just fabulous, so I know what will replace Cho Dang in the rotation. But I digress...

Really? There's no place in, say, the Arlington Heights/Des Plaines area that meets the good quality standard? I ask, not to be argumentative, but because I'm looking for a good Korean bbq place in that area.

or to some other post? Because if it were to the above post, I'm having trouble understanding how you reached the conclusion you did. The authenticity and quality were not in question, only the price was...

New Seoul in Des Plaines is great.

Well, there is really good Korean BBQ in the Niles area.

Thanks, Steve, I've met search and consider him a friend, but what I was particularly interested in with my earlier post was whether or not dicksond thought there was any good-quality Korean bbq in the AH/DP area.

Last Friday I was going to meet some people for Korean bbq, but they couldn't nail down a place til the last minute. I was hoping they'd pick something in the AH/DP/Niles (thanks for reminding me) area, as I had the vague impression they were thinking of meeting in that area. I wish I'd spoken up and suggested Del Seoul. As it turned out, they chose Da Rae Jung, 5220 N. Lincoln Avenue, which is probably a fine place, but I don't know, since on short notice I couldn't coordinate getting home from work and picking up my guest in the burbs and getting back down to Da Rae Jung in time.

I can't speak for Mr. Dickson, but I will say that New Seoul (the place I linked to) is a top tier Korean BBQ spot regardless of location. I put it right up there with SSGS, Hai Woon Dae and Kang Nam (R.I.P.). The ingredients are very high quality there.

Del Seoul, the Korean taco stand in Lincoln Park, is also good but they don't serve BBQ and is probably not what you were looking for.

Sorry, my mistake. I misremembered something I read here on LTH Forum. Hai Woon Dae only partially closed (they no longer serve lunch). It's Kang Nam that's gone for good. My original post is corrected.

We were there about a month ago. We did not have the BBQ, but my stand-by dol sot bi bim bap was excellent, and panchan was good as well.
