Seeking North Side source for candied fruits

Italian friend has been looking for this to make fruitcake and some Italian holiday baked goods. Any tips appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This ain't much help for the North side, but the best candied fruits I have ever had are from

Houston Pecan Company on Ashcroft Street in - wait for it - Houston.

Google 'em. They ship nationwide. Their nuts are superb, too - especially the pecans (suprise!) They always sell this year's crop only.

Just as an aside, the company was founded not long after WWII by a young Jewish refugee who came over from Europe shortly after the end of the war. How'd he make it?
