Has anyone paid attention to the price/lb. of pork butt? Who has a decent price?

I am seeing $1.39/lb. in the SW burbs - Haven't checked elsewhere yet.

You should be able to find it under a buck per lb somewhere any given week. I'll investigate a little later.

Page 1, front and center at Pete's Fresh.
Might make sense for a stop if you're buying a bunch of it, and you're within reasonable distance. Versus 1.39/lb, at Pete's price, you'll be getting 1lb free for every 2.5 lbs you buy. How I wish Cermak Produce had an online weekly ad. Jimenez and a few other of my usual suspects were over a buck a lb.

    Hi,

When tamales are served at Christmas, is it the focal part of the meal or is there other components to the meal?

    Regards,

My BF's mom is Mexican and always serves tamales from Taco Mex in south Chicago--along with a ham and various other dishes. so not a focal point per se (although they are for me b/c the rest of the meal is pretty blah  )
