Hannukah Harry's pushcart pulled over to the kitchen entrance of The Casino a few days ago. Many of you LTHers have seen the the Vita-Mix blenders on various teevee shows. Some of you may have your very own Vita Prep blenders. This is one serious blender, with a 1.5 gallon capacity, perfect for large quantities of soup, etc...
To give you a better perspective of the size of this monster, I set a jug of cranberry juice next to it.

A friend of mine uses his Vita-Mix as a mill for grinding whole grains into flour.

Judging by the size of that thing I suspect your friend could also grind himself into flour with it.

Post #6 - December 25th, 2010, 8:05 pmI just bought a five gallon pot for making beer. I wanted metal handles so that I could put the whole thing in the oven when making stock. Was that why you chose metal handles, evil, or was there some health code consideration or some other motivation?

Post #7 - December 25th, 2010, 8:33 pmThis pan is too big for any of our ovens. We braise in some of the smaller ones. They're guaranteed for life, and over the years, several have been replaced at no charge.
Pretty much all of the commercial grade cookware that I've seen has metal handles.

If you bring 74 quarts of Lobster Bisque to my house, I am convinced that we can celebrate Hannukah (or any other holiday)in lieu of Christmas.
