Jeffrey Morgenthaler has a
recipe on his blog that attempts to replicate the fresh Seville orange/pomegranate flavors with some more readily available ingredients.
1 oz orange juice (freshly-squeezed)
¾ oz – 1 oz lime juice (depending on the sweetness of your oranges)
½ oz real pomegranate grenadine
3 dashes hot sauce or ¼ tsp chile powder
I would imagine Big Star's recipe is more complex and ultimately more satisfying, but Jeffrey is quite good at producing reliable but simplified recipes (e.g.
his ginger beer).
