I can only second the motion. Ham hash is something I remember eating only when I was being raised in Texas; I had gone maybe thirty years without it, since I became an adopted Chicago resident. It is unique up here, and to be treasured.

There are other good corned beef hash examples in the area, especially the excellent version at Max's Deli up in Highland Park. I'd strongly recommend the ham hash at Patty's, and try corned beef at other venues.

I did end up getting the Ham Hash and am very glad I did. Thanks everyone!

Tried to go on Tuesday around noon it was packed. A friend who was there said it took about 45 minutes to get served and the place was in typical crowded form. I did not wait.

Had our fourth last breakfast at Patty's today. So sad.

I had the honor and privilege of being the last person served today at Patty's. I worked in the kitchen most of the day and ran to the grocery store four times. I got to chop potatoes, make pancake batter, and answer the phone most of the day...plus the dishwasher broke down (Ironic) so I helped "bail out"

The last meal was a "2X2 Special"
2 Over Hard Eggs
4 Bacon Strips
Hash Browns
2 Pancakes

I was also treated to a toasted roll, and 1 biscuit with the last drops of the gravy.

Then we tore the place down. Dismantled everything, it is still being washed down in the back with pressure washers, and loaded on to trucks. It is 9:30pm and there is a small dedicated group still there tearing the steel off of the walls..


To me it means that she is keeping stuff for the future. I hope that future comes soon.


Many of us do not know what we are going to do during our spare time especially on the weekends now.
