The cheddar was Jasper Hill's clothbound, very good quality cheddar fairly easy to find around town. On the rare occasion I decide to eat a non-local cheese, it is almost always a Jasper Hill's product.
The cheese selection at Marion has taken a real nice turn for the better of late. The selection of local cheeses is especially good these days, with many items not seen outside of Wisconsin farmer's markets. You could spend days, and much dollars, working your way through the selections. On top of all that, some of the cheeses, like the two from Capriole, were in high state of ripeness--they pyramid hardly being a pyramid when it arrived, having collapsed on itself.
I agree with the comments that the best way to enjoy MSM is to get as many cheeses as your wallet allows, drink good beer, and maybe save room for a dessert. With the fine Oak Park Boyz company, I'd call the night a success.
