    hi everyone,

as i posted under the sun wah link, we are planning our annual chinese new year's feast. this year, the feast will be one night only, on feb. 4th@7pm. normally, this is where i say get in line and see who gets in. but, thanks to one really really enthusiastic group, i've already closed the reservations for this year's feast. i was going to cap at 120 people, but we're already at 180, thanks to this bunch. so, if you've not been emailed, i'm really really sorry you couldn't make it in. what i can do is put up a waitlist here and see what happens. if it does fill like crazy, i will make a second dinner for saturday night and fill that with people on the waitlist. the menu is prix fixe (no, i haven't set it officially yet because dad's not back from china to fill it with crazy ideas... :P ) at $28/person, tax and tip included. drinks are separate. we carry beer, wine, and some cocktails. i also have a homebrew of ginseng infused vodka if anyone cares for a shot or two. if you bring your own bottles, wine is $5/bottle, beer is $2/bottle. again, the cap will be at about 120 if you are interested, please post as soon as possible. this is a waiting list and whether or not a second dinner will happen will depend on how many people reply. hope i've been clear and not sound like i'm babbling...oh wait, that is what i usually sound like... see you all soon!

I don't know how I missed this! If possible, please add me to the wait list.

    Hi,

I suggest calling, too, because Kelly may not be keeping track of statements here.

    Self-explanatory, I guess.

Wish I could make this event, but will be out of town (Galena, where Grant slept once or twice).

Is it possible to get descriptions of these dishes?
I've never heard of any of them (not that it surprises anyone  )

Please post pics after the event if anyone takes them - I'm really intrigued.

    Kelly,

Is that big parking garage north of you available to park? How much does it cost?

    Looking forward to Friday!

    Hi,

When we had our holiday party in Sun Wah in 2009, they were still learning how to serve in this much larger space. They did a fine job.

I was wondering how they were going to serve 180 people reserved on Friday night. Sun Wah did a version of Metra's "load and go," when a table had a full compliment of people: dinner was served. This method of staggering service gave them some breathing room.

I haven't checked how my pictures came out. I may need some help putting name to dish.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
