Hi- Nightline tonight just had a segment on the show Bizarre Foods. They followed them around Chicago as they were filming here a few weeks ago. One of the locations they featured was Maxwell Market. Hope this helps, Nancy

Great show! Visiting the kitchens and chatting with the Chef's (Grant, Graham, & Rick) were my favorite parts.

G Wiv: Congrats on being shown on TV and representing Chicago food! Nice segment! :)

FWIW, on ComCast the show is in OnDemand under Travel Channel, "premiering now" so no need to set your DVR if you missed it.

That was about as good a visitor's-view-type-tv-show as you're ever going to see about Chicago. I always love seeing our town through the eyes of visitors and I thought this was a particularly distinctive and compelling take.

Congrats to Gary, Sula and all the other locals who helped show off some of our great culinary offerings.

Congrats to Gary and Mike Sula!

I thought they did a great job with all the segments,
but an especially nice job with Gary's, giving him a chance to talk and show off his BBQ knowledge, etc.

There was no Burt's segment in the Bizarre Foods episode. You're confusing it with Anthony Bourdain's show, No Reservations, which just ran again and included a segment on Burt's (including a whole room stuffed with LTHers, not to mention Louisa Chu at Tony's table).

Yep, you are correct; I watched them both last night.

Just watched the Bizarre Foods Chicago episode on demand and loved it. There were a bunch of places that I'm totally unfamiliar with and am now excited to seek out.

    Great job, Gary!

Although I've seen the Chicago Bourdain episode many times, it was interesting to see them both to compare. I thought the Bizarre Foods episode was great & a big part of that was Zimmern with his joie de vivre embracing the Chicago destinations in a way Bourdain never did. The Uncle John's (nice job, Gary) & Alinea parts were awesome and stood in contrast to parts of the No Reservations show in which Bourdain seems a mite standoffish, even at Burt's. I've seen enough of him to know when he really digs something & when he merely smiles & tolerates it. But of course, I wasn't one of the LTH'ers who were extras that night--maybe he was different off-camera.

I finally watched the Chicago episode this weekend, and it was definitely fun to see an episode full of people and places that I know.

However, Andrew Zimmerman is just too annoying for me to watch this show ever again. Everything is either "AWESOME" or he just giggles like an idiot. My favorite moment of the episode was his commentary on Alinea:

"I think I just wet my pants"

    Well played, sir...well played.
